Recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the Dough:
Combine 1 1/2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Heat the milk, water, and butter in a small saucepan until warm (about 110°F/45°C). The butter does not need to melt completely.
Add the warm liquid mixture to the flour mixture and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Add the egg and beat for another minute.
Stir in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until the dough is soft and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Knead the Dough:
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, for about 1 hour.
Shape the Rolls:
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased round baking dish or cake pan, spacing them evenly.
Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise again until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the rolls for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter for an extra soft and shiny finish.
Serve:
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. These rolls are best enjoyed warm, with a pat of butter or your favorite jam.
Enjoy your homemade fluffy dinner rolls!
