Grandma’s Butter Pecan Cookies
Écriture
My grandma’s butter pecan cookies were the highlight of every holiday growing up. The moment they hit the oven, the whole house filled with that warm, buttery, caramelized pecan aroma that pulled everyone straight into the kitchen.
Now I bake them on chilly evenings, and somehow every batch feels like wrapping your family in a warm hug. Crispy golden edges, soft buttery centers, and crunchy toasted pecans in every bite… pure homemade comfort.
Ingredients: • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup brown sugar, packed
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 1½ cups pecans, chopped and toasted
✨ Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking
soda, and salt.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
Fold in the toasted pecans.
Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto parchment-lined baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centers remain soft.
Let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Secret Tip: Toast the pecans in a dry skillet for a few minutes before adding them to the dough. It deepens the nutty flavor and makes these cookies absolutely unforgettable
Perfect with coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk on cozy evenings.
Who would you bake these for first?
