INGREDIENTS:

1 teaspoon salt

500g all-purpose flour

1 packet (7g) instant yeast

1 tablespoon sugar

300ml warm water

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.

Gradually add the warm water to the dry ingredients, stirring until a sticky dough forms.

Once the dough comes together, cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

After resting, transfer the dough onto the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a loaf or desired shape.

Using a sharp knife, score the top of the dough to allow for expansion during baking.

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until it’s golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Enjoy your freshly baked German bread!
